Caring for Outdoor Wood in Houston
Houston is hard on outdoor timber. Long humid summers, heavy rainfall, intense sun, and clay soil that holds water all shorten the life of wood left unmanaged. A few habits make a large difference.
Keep wood off standing water
Where possible, keep beds and planters on ground that drains, or raise them slightly so the base is not sitting in a puddle after every storm.
Let air move around it
Wood that can dry between rains lasts longer than wood pressed flat against a wall or fence.
Clear debris
Leaf litter and soil piled against the outside of a planter traps moisture against the timber.
Expect movement
Solid wood expands, contracts, and develops surface checking as it seasons outdoors. Small cracks and color change are normal and are not defects.
Refinishing
If your product has a finish, it will need reapplying periodically. Frequency depends on sun exposure.
Placeholder: Specific finish products, reapplication intervals, and cleaning instructions will be added here once our standard finish is chosen and tested.
Warranty
Placeholder: Warranty terms have not been written yet. Coverage period, what is and is not covered, claim process, and exclusions are all still being decided. Nothing on this page currently constitutes a warranty. This section will be completed and reviewed before the site goes live.
Returns and Cancellations
